On the 18th time AIM awards took place, then they make a simple mistake at a cost this young singer/songwriter. Anyway who gives a shit whether she won or lose but to me it’s a very,very bold move by those pricks in AIM to announce that they have made a mistake. A big salutes to them. Admitting they are wrong and humble enough to took back the award and re-award it to the eventual winner Anuar Zain. Hahaha…ain’t that something?

And this dude awkwardly received it back from Yuna after she got up to the stage and say a word or two for her fans. Anyway its not the whole scene I am commenting, its just how our music industry grows…instead of keep improving and may some hiccups along the way too, 18 years was never enough for them to grow up and learned. Oh also I believe they blame a well known audit company was behind it and seems likely they rising some eyebrows whether this company will getting the job next year…hmmmmmm.

Are you a photographer or cameramen?

To me...I never wanted to be either one of them. Just want photography as a hobby, or therapy and something to calm me down or stressing me down. That's all...but still I do need to learn all the basics of photography. Not just point and shoot as the most common Malaysian do in anything they do. For instance football...Everyone thinks they know how to play football but the fundamental, the basic, the technique are the most we are lacking of. Only few years then after much losing and embarrassment then they start with the basics...Enough said just read and understand it....

What’s the difference between a Photographer and a Cameraman?

Let me give you some history. Many years ago, when photography was kicking off in Malaysia, most people who became photographers were people who didn’t have a high level of education, and didn’t have a good command of English. They figured it’s easy to become a photographer. “Just point and shoot only mah,” was the motto. Learn the techniques to expose a picture, learn developing negatives and printing. You didn’t need a lot of education to do that.

I'm not a photograher: Because I don't have a DSLR

He said that, “people nowadays are buying DSLR just to show off” “Owning a DSLR doesn’t mean you are a pro”. Wow, that is a rather bold and offensive statement for some people. I’m not offended at all. Why? Here’s why.
1) I don’t own a DSLR. I’m still not good enough to handle one.
2) I don’t have money to buy one (the main reason :p).
3) I had photography as my hobby since 2006, not just recently.
4) I’m not a photographer because I don’t make any money out of it. Nor do I self claimed as one.

PEKAN RABU (HDR)

Pekan Rabu, which literally means "Wednesday Market", is a shopping centre located in the middle of Alor Star, the state capital of Kedah, Malaysia. The complex is popular among the local population and tourists from outside Kedah. The fourth Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, was once a trader in Pekan Rabu.

Prior to the construction of this complex, the traders carried on their business in an open building without walls. The complex cost RM 3.2 million when it was built in 1975. Situated in Jalan Tunku Ibrahim, it was officially opened on 25 February 1978. It was renovated in 1995 at a cost of RM 6.5 million, and Phase 2 was built in 1990 at a cost of RM 2 million. Pekan Rabu has 347 stalls with a variety of business. Rental rates for a stall in Pekan Rabu range from RM 90 and RM 300 monthly.

The business complex is not only the pride of Malay entrepreneurs in Kedah but also the pride of all Malay's in Kedah. Moreover the fourth Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir, once was a trader in Pekan Rabu. Most tourists visiting Alor Setar make it a point to shop around at the Pekan Rabu Complex.

It took me almost a week to pick myself up and start update this blog. As some of you readers know by now that I have lost someone very dear to me that is my mom last week (12.02.2011). She passed away after battling for a number of years from hearts and kidney problems. Sometimes I do wonder whether this is her time to go or not . Maybe I am selfish that God took her from me without my consent but deep inside my heart too that I have to let her go. Each time seeing her laying in bed with the life support really had an effect on me. Every moment I could not bear to see her suffer. The tears in her eyes looking at me without saying anything is still in my head. As the song suggest if only I could make heaven wait...so that I could spend a little more time with her. Miss you already mom. No more stories to tell, no more jokes to laugh, no more fighting for TV channel and no more 'sungkei' (breaking fast) together definitely. But one thing will never perished...you will always in my heart...love you mom.

Berdasarkan kisah benar seorang ibu tunggal Betty Anne Waters (lakonan Hilary Swank) bertekad membebaskan adik lelakinya Kenneth "Kenny" Waters (lakonan Sam Rockwell) yang dituduh membunuh kejam seorang wanita Katharina Bow di Ayer, Massachusetts pada 1983. Adiknya didapati bersalah dan dipenjara tanpa parol. Betty Anne Waters sanggup menempuhi pelbagai dugaan dan tomahan untuk mendapat "law degree"nya demi menjadi seorang peguam supaya beliau boleh membebaskan adiknya. Betty Anne Waters berjaya membebaskan adiknya dengan bantuan NGO "Innocence Project" apabila beliau mendapat bahan bukti baru terbaru melalui ujian DNA yang belum diperkenalkan ketika era 80an selepas 2001. Lakonan berkesan dari Hilary Swank yang aku kenal dari Boys Don't Cry dan Million Dollar Baby mendapat pengiktirafan lakonan terbaik Oscar dan Golden Globe. Aku amat kagum dengan semangat kasih sayang Betty Anne Waters yang menempuhi lebih 18 tahun berjuang untuk membebaskan adiknya. Yang bestnya, dia ni belajar untuk dapat law degree demi membebaskan adiknya bukan sebagai kerjayanya. Ada juga orang macam dia ni...

Tahun Baru Cina…Tahun Arnab

Selamat Tahun Baru Cina kepada seluruh warga Malaysia yang menyambutnya. Aku rasa kena cakap macam tu sebab negara kita yang berbilang kaum dan kawin campur akan menyambut hampir semua perayaan keagamaan yang ada di Malaysia. Serupa macam aku juga dulu. Mendiang atuk sebelah mak aku berbangsa Cina. Jadi aku sambut ler Tahun Baru Cina. Itu pun seingat aku sambut sampai aku umur 5-6 tahun jer. Sebabnya orang tua tu dah meninggal. So lepas tu aku sambut raya pulak. Panjang cerita tapi dipendekkan aku dah merasa hampir semua perayaan utama. Walau apapun, aku harap tahun arnab ni mendatang “ong” untuk aku selepas aku baca horoscope aku tadi. Sebagai “water rat” dalam tahun arnab ada ler peluang untuk maju dari kerjajaya, kewangan tapi kena jaga2 kesihatan terutamanya perut aku. Tapi itu sekadar untuk pengetahuan bolehlah. Bagi aku semua kejayaan tidak akan datang sendiri kalau kita tak berusaha untuk mendapatkannya. Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year Malaysian!!!….

Aku ingatkan dia datang 8 Mac tapi salah info lak. Nak pegi ke tak nak pegi. Hari selasa minggu depan kalau takde ape2 masalah. Rugi jugak kalau aku tak tengok dia ni perform. Semestinya suaranya yang power dengan persembahan yang mantap yang memberi kepuasan kepada si pembayar tiket berharga ratusan untuk 2 jam show. Hari tu aku tengok kat Youtube dia perform kat Grammy Award 2007 amat mantap.Last aku tengok international act was in 2008 I think. Masa tu aku tengok Dionne Warwick. Tengok harga tiketnya pun kow2 juga. So tengoklah apa yang terjadi, selalunya aku akan decide till the last moment. Anyway, its seems nowdays banyak jugak international act datang ke KL.

This song has become one of my favorites songs of all time. The reason being is that I actually really grow listening to this song when I was young. My old folks and uncles would spin this song in the house every time they have the chance plus many others famous singer. But this the only song I could remember for different reason that was I got a good smack on the my head and butt really bad for being naughty while this song was playing. So, what a way to a remembering once a bad experience each time I heard this song. Nothing special really about it but just a painful 4-5 years old boy growing up in a broken family.

Pulp Fiction adalah salah satu daripada banyak2 movie yang telah aku tengok sejak awal 90an lagi. Mula-mula aku tak kenal pengarah ni (Quentin Tarantino), setelah aku diperkenalkan dengan karya-karya sebelumnya Reservoir Dogs(1992) akhirnya aku sentiasa mengikuti perkembagan dia ni. Lepas tu dia release pulak karya seperti Jackie Brown(1997), Kill Bill 1 & 2(2003-2004), Death Proof (2007) dan Inglourious Basterds (2009). Jalan ceritanya yang klasik menampilkan beberapa karekter dan dicampurkan pulak dengan elemen muzik 70an, Surfing serta country. Filem ini juga mengangkat semula karier John Travolta yang pudar kembali semula ke lime light. Seperti aku jangkakan, Samuel L Jackson dengan lakonan yang berkesan dicampurkan dengan adegan-adegan 'adults only' menambahkan lagi spice dalam cerita. Kepada sesiapa yang belum tengok cerita ni pergi lah cari mana-mana DVD vendor tapi kena tahan duduk sebab ceritanya dalam 3 jam.

This much anticipated children’s theatre called Lima Bersaudara (5 siblings I think) was held in Panggung DBKL last December come with a very warm review and the response was great and has been sold out from day 1. This theatre was rewarded as the first of its kind in Malaysia and recorded in Malaysia Book’s Of Record. Kudos to Mr. Zulkarnain Ramly as the director of this theatre for making it happened. I am very lucky to watch it with my family and had a few shots though its tough to shot with unsuitable lenses but nevertheless here are the shots that I feel worth sharing.

Engagement 2010 Photography Experience…

I am truly privilege to witness an engagement ceremony of my colleague Eda somewhere in Bagan Datuk ( I think…). As I never had any experience in wedding/engagement photography so here’s my result. You guys be the judge of that. With my limited imagination and creativity, I can’t see how do I do from the scale of 1 to 10. But here are the best out of this, I got the change to see other peoples lives and culture cause here in Bagan Datuk there are plenty of Javanese speaking or non speaking to mingle with especially with Eda’s mum and dad. This family welcomes me and my family to their home with an open arm and warm welcome. Since this is my very first trip to this part of the country, I am really glad to see plenty of things, the scenery and the peoples from all walks of life. However, I love the food because of its simplicity, exotic and authentic especially the “ikan masin”. Me and wife couldn’t stop thinking about it as its tastes different from any other “ikan masin” from where we came from and still we are crazy about it.

I just that all that I wish for this will change as my title. Actually I am sick over this few nonsense outstanding works since last January 2010 because of some indecisive decisions. This I was summoned to Malaysia Tourism Information Centre (MATIC) because water spillage by marine aquarium our company rented out to them. In actual fact the spillage was due to power failure of which the water pump filter system making a reverse entry that caused overflow. This is the 3rd time happening for the past 3 years. I have been reminding the company to change the whole water system since early January 2010 but my words fallen to deaf ears. Yesterday I manage to propose to the management of MATIC that we need change to whole system and awards us the rental contract for some amount of which I cannot reveal. They agreed but my boss propose otherwise as he see different way since the whole idea was to make money!. So… I have to comeback to my sketches and reevaluate my cost again. Damned! Back to the drawing board whatever they called it…

Desa Balqis @ Kuala Linggi – Pool Construction

As months goes by, I have the pleasure watching this magnificent yet completed place called Desa Balqis developing from just ordinary bushes by the seaside overlooking the longest straits in the world ( I guess only) and becoming more uniquely places of which I am personally not sure what would it suppose to be like any tourist or beach goers wanted to be. As for now, I am sure that the construction of the new pool will be an attraction for the place as I believe this would be the one and only pool in Kuala Linggi. So if the readers to correct me on my statement please do so on the comments as maybe I might be wrong. Unless there is or are swimming pools around the area. Mainly the reason I am writing this is just merely of what I think of the place and I took some shots just because I am bored waiting for my boss planning the finishing touch to it and also the deadline they need to meet. So under the very,very, very hot sun after few months of my last burns on my body I manage to come out of from idealess dumb head on how I wanted to shot what’s in front of me. What amazed me so much is that how fast and efficient these worker in completing their task. There are 5 teams working on this pool consists of general constructions of the pool, tiles men, pool water system, gazebo men and wiring guys. All of them are hand in hand systematically building this pool from scratch. Lastly, the unique thing is that there are no plans, design, mechanical and electrical plans or what so ever in building the pool….it’s all in my boss head. Believe me, I am not bluffing or exaggerating….

New Family Member

She’s the newest member of the family. Of all the kitten wondering around in the neighbourhood I pick her. Till today I still wondering to myself why did I pick her. It was one night after watching England game that I heard she cried or something else under a car. I told my wife there’s a kitten crying under the car. I just pulled her underneath the car without looking hoping not to grab anything else apart from her. I also don’t even know how she would look like. So when I pulled her underneath the car, walla there she is…looking confuse and scared. My wife gently tuck her in her arms so that she would not feel threaten. Also we don’t know its a she…we were hoping a he actually. We lost one cat after he fell 13th storey from our home. It took us a while to recover from the trauma of losing a cat especially my wife and my daughter. So we name her Peet Teet. She has 19 black toes and 1 pink one, 4 white socks, medium size tail, plenty of long whiskers, furry hair and I think she’s mixed of something. Then she very active running around and it took awhile for our Moo to accept her. After few days of scenting or sniffing around finally Moo accept her as one of the family. Just hope the relationship would last for a very long time or till death do us apart.

masalah sosial yang serabut…

Agaknya sekarang ni kepala aku semakin serabut dan kalau boleh dibayangkan dengan visual mungkin gambar yang aku ambik ni dapat menggambarkan macam mana keadaan kepala aku sekarang. Aku rasa sama juga dengan isu serabut yang satu ni. Selasa lepas aku pergi majlis perjumpaan dengan Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat dengan para media dan penerbit filem dan tv. Seperti biasalah yang datang otai-otai filem dan tv seperti Datuk Yusuf Haslam, Datuk ke Datin Paduka Suhaimi Baba, David Teo, Yusuf Kelana dan ramai lagi.

Ceritanya sama ajelah, gejala sosial masyarakat Malaysia. Kes buang bayi, penderaan kanak-kanak, rogol dan macam-macam. Masing-masing bagi pendapat macam mana nak tangani masalah tersebut. Bagi aku, semuanya nak buat cam tu, cam ni dan semua mungkin berkesan. Tetapi, bagi aku diaorang lansung tak terfikir macam mana nak tackle masalah dari segi psikologi. Yang aku herankan masa zaman diaorang mana ada internet, handphone, tv dan banyak lagi. Masa aku kalau nak tengok tv aku kena pergi rumah jiran. Masa tu diaorang aje yang ada tv kat kampung tu. Dahlah kena bayar 10 sen lak sekali masuk.

Sekarang ni nak salahkan internet lak pasal pornografi, pasal budak kena rogol, seks bawah umur dan macam2 lagi. Sepatutnya diaorang ni kena ambik tahu atau keep up to date tentang perkembangan semasa serta teknologi untuk bersaing dengan minda budak2 ni. Zaman anak-anak sekarang ni ngek aje dah tau KFC, Pizzahut, Starbuck, Secret Recepilah dan macam-macam. Soalnya sekarang kenapa macam nak bendung bukan nak halang. Bagi aku bendung dari segi keseluruhan permasalahan yang berhubungkait dan halang akan membawa ke arah bencana yang lebih mendalam umpama mencurah minyak ke unggun api.

Sepatutnya bagi aku, kita kena tengok dari aspek kerohanian kanak-kanak, remaja dan juga struktur organisasi kekeluarga mereka. Di samping itu faktor kemiskinan dan kemewahan juga memainkan peranan dalam masalah ini. Macam mana kanak-kanak atau individu tersebut berhubung. Aku percaya kalau kita treat our children with respect and understand them properly maybe banyak perkara yang sepatutnya tidak berlaku dapat kita elakkan.

I was privilege to witness one of the most important events for the Muslims around the world that morning. Aidil Adha marks the end of pilgrimage period hence the name Hari Raya Haji. Aidil Adha also called Feast of the Sacrifice (Hari Raya Korban) symbolically marks the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son own in obedience to God. Now Aidil Adha is celebrated to commemorate in conjunction of the Haj or pilgrimage and also to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim spirit of sacrifice or korban. It was a wonderful as I have the chance to witness the act of sacrifice with my family though indifferent of race and religion. To me, knowing and experience the event are the ways of how we show our respect of others.
